Saturday 8th March saw the running of the 44th Haworth Hobble, a gruelling 31.7 mile ultra marathon, starting and finishing in Haworth and taking in some spectacular moorland scenery, including Top Withens and Stoodley Pike. I wasn’t remotely tempted to take part, not with my dodgy knees, but hundreds of much braver souls than me did and it made for some great photos.
I had planned to station myself at Top Withens and use the trusty 200 mm lens to “snipe” runners as they struggled, erm I mean ran, up the hill. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other ideas and dropped a thick fog over everything. Once a couple of runners had passed, I set off back down the hill, meeting loads of very cheery runners on the way and these are the resulting photos:
